Meet Sherrie

Sherrie Trede Black, RN, JD, MAc, LAc, received her Masters of Acupuncture from Tai Sophia Institute, now Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH), Laurel MD, in 2005, and continues to serve there as an adjunct faculty member.

Sherrie believes that achieving health and wellness requires a whole person approach, one that may require lifestyle changes to diet, sleep hygiene, exercise, and stress reduction to move you from a place of “dis-ease” to healing. Sherrie calls upon her knowledge of Acupuncture and conventional medicine, low glycemic eating, and nutritional supplementation, to help her clients reach their wellness goals. See, sherrieblackwellness.com. Using these tools, she brings wellness and vitality to the lives of her clients.

Sherrie compassionately supports her clients as they heal and realize the fullness of their potential. Her patient and tending nature gives them the space to engage in this process at their own unique pace. Sherrie is committed to being fully present to each moment for herself and her clients. She creates an environment in her treatment room that encourages her clients to meet each day with gratitude and to see the small daily gifts that give life meaning.

Sherrie obtained a Diploma in Nursing from Allentown Hospital Nurses College. What followed was a diverse career as a Registered Nurse in surgical and cardiac intensive care, oncology, and post-operative open heart surgery at various hospitals, including the National Institutes of Health, Clinical Center, Bethesda, Maryland. This experience allows Sherrie to talk with your doctors about your complaints and treatment, and together create a unified team approach to speed your healing.

Pursuing further education, Sherrie obtained her BA in Sociology from George Washington University, and subsequently a Juris Doctorate from the Washington College of Law, American University. As a lawyer for 30 years, she acted as mediator, litigator and counsel. Through attentive listening, she is able to support and coach you on ways to meet your life objectives and live your passions.

Sherrie has successfully treated men and women for a wide array of diseases and symptoms, including neck and back pain, arthritis pain, hypertension, GIRD, IBS, migraine and other headaches, anxiety, surgical rehabilitation, and depression, to name a few.
